- Ulla-Maija Pitkänen (1981) builds her work from nostalgic elements, pastel colors, playful thoughts and stories. She is inspired by flowers, embroidery and granny-like elements. Her work has an old touch with a modern sensibility. Since graduating in 2004 as a textile designer from Sydväst Polytechnic (Turku, Finland) she has participated in solo and group exhibitions,
worked as an active member in B-gallery and made her own jewelry label krooh-pyyh-titi-tyy. The Jewelry is made of recycled materials. At the moment she is working in Helsinki, Finland. She's in the gallery committee of Napa Gallery and a member of Ornamo and MUU ry.
From the beginning of the year 2012 Ulla-Maija has been one of the owners of a shop called Mon Paris / Albertinkatu 6, Helsinki.
